Renee Kathleen Zellweger
Renee Kathleen Zellweger is a daughter
of Kjellfrid Andreassen, a former midwife and nurse in Norway. She was born on
April 25, 1969 in Katy. Emil Erich Zellweger is her father. He is a Swiss
engineer. The couple were married in the year 1963. Renee has a brother called
Drew Zellweger, a marketing executive who was born on the 15th of February
1967. Renee began her interest in acting during high school while working on
the drama group. In Austin she also took an acting class , and began to explore
acting as a profession. She was keen to pursue acting after graduation. But,
Hollywood can be difficult to make it into so Renee chose to stay in Texas and
apply for roles around Houston. In Houston, she was able to land roles in films
such as Reality Bites (1994), and Empire Records (1995). Matthew McConaughey
(another Hollywood rising star) was her pal while she was on the set of Texas
Chainsaw Massacre II: The Next Generation (1994). Renee watched him work on a
project which was of interest to her. She was a part-time auditioner and was
chosen for the role in Love and A.45 (1994). The role brought her critical
acclaim that she decided to relocate to Los Angeles. Her biggest break came
when she was cast in another part in The Whole Wide World (1996). Cameron Crowe
was busy casting his next film The Whole Wide World, Jerry Maguire
(1996),starring Tom Cruise. Crowe was considering such actresses like Cameron
Diaz, Bridget Fonda, Winona Ryder, and Marisa Tomei. He was enthralled when he
was introduced to Zellweger's role in The Whole Wide World (1996). The audition
was conducted by Zellweger to ensure that he was his Dorothy Boyd. After
following her success in a handful of independent movies, Renee felt confident
enough to go back to the big-budget Hollywood film industry. Meryl Streep
played her in One True Thing (1998). Also, she acted in Me, Myself &
Irene (2000) in which she starred alongside Jim Carrey, and soon after began
dating Carrey. Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) as the leading role.
