Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born in Dallas,
Texas, to Gayle (Gaston), Director of the national office at Mary Kay, and
Freddie Wright who was a pharmaceutical executive. She grew up in San Diego,
California. She started her career at the age of 14 working as a model. She
worked in Paris, Japan and Paris. When she finished high school, she decided to
become an actress. She was part of the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984), in
which she was nominated 3 more times for Daytime Emmys. The first season of the
show she was in love with fellow cast member Dane Witherspoon, whom she was
married in 1986. Meanwhile, she starred in The Princess Bride (1987) in the
title role. When she left Santa Barbara, she was given the lead role in Denial
(1990) along with Jason Patric. She became acquainted with Sean Penn in 1990
while she was appearing in State of Grace (1990). They had a daughter Dylan
Frances with him and the son was named Hopper Jack. Robin was back in Hollywood
with Tara one of the most important roles in her career, after taking an
absence. She was a stunning actress and was a fantastic performer. She then
appeared in Toys (1992) alongside Robin Williams, and she performed a hilarious
role. Wright appeared in 1994's blockbuster hit Forrest Gump (1994) with Tom
Hanks. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her role in the film as
Jenny. The film gave her a small role in The Crossing Guard (1995), starring
Jack Nicholson. After rejecting 14 roles she finally got the lead part in
MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996). Pen Densham directed her and Stockard Channing
acted. With William Hurt, she was then in Erin Dignam's Loved (1997).
