Natalie Dormer
(born 11 February 1982) is an English actress. She has won an Empire Award and
been nominated for two Gemini Awards, two Critics Choice Awards, and two Screen
Actors Guild Awards. Dormer was born in Reading, Berkshire. She gained
notoriety as Anne Boleyn. A role she played on the Showtime series The Tudors
(2008), that earned her acclaim. Her stage debut was in the musical Sweet
Nothings (2010). In Madonna's W.E., she played the role of the Duchess and
York. (2011), Private Lorraine in Captain America The First Avenger (2011). The
Young Vic praised her performance in After Miss Julie (2012). Dormer was
appreciated for her performances in the show After Miss Julie (2012) at the
Young Vic. She has also appeared as Irene Adler/Moriarty for the CBS series
Elementary (2013-15), Sara Price Jess Price in The Forest (2016) and voiced
Onica in the TV series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019). Her role as
Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, a miniseries about Penny Dreadful, was highly
praised. Dormer was born in Reading, Berkshire, England on the 11th of
February, 1982, daughter of Gary Dormer and wife Claire Richards and the sister
of Mark Dormer and Samantha Dormer.
