Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a former chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook shows easy to master methods and her signature spikey blonde locks. Chef Burrell was also employed by various top eateries located in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy as well as competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for food and cooking at very young. The Culinary Institute of America was a natural next step for her following graduation with an Associate of Arts degree in English as well as Communications from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a fantastic adventure for me. It was difficult to master how to do, or even work hard enough. Chef Burrell who graduated from the Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy spent one year working in Umbria in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, the Michelin-starred restaurant. During her time in Italy she learned to appreciate and understand the philosophy of Italian culinary and cultural traditions that has had a profound impact from a culinary viewpoint. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. Additionally, she has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids who have challenges. She frequently travels around the nation in her capacity as both a mentor and an invited speaker, where she talks about her work and passion for cooking. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has often said that I am very fortunate to share my passion for life with people.
